Jersey Village Flooring, Put Right After a Leak or Storm

When water gets under your floors, we help you decide what has to come out, what can stay and what should go back in. We replace wet sections with hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, tile, laminate or carpet for homes in Jersey Village, Spring Valley Village and Katy, and we wait for dry readings before we install.

Floors We Install and Replace

We install hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl plank, luxury vinyl tile, tile flooring, laminate flooring, carpet installation, carpet tile and vinyl composition tile, plus stair flooring to tie levels together. After a leak, the right choice depends on the room, the slab underneath and how much risk of a future one you want to plan for. A kitchen beside a dishwasher line may call for tile or a waterproof vinyl, while a bedroom can go back to carpet or wood. We explain how each material behaves when it meets water so you choose once and choose well.

  • Installer kneeling on a bare subfloor, using a yellow pneumatic nailer to fasten rows of new oak hardwood boards across an empty room

    Hardwood Flooring

New solid or engineered hardwood, installed after the subfloor has been checked and dried, so water-damaged rooms get a floor that stays flat.

  • Installer kneeling on underlayment, fitting a wood-look vinyl plank against a white baseboard lined with black spacers, a stack of planks beside him

    Luxury Vinyl Plank

Water-resistant rigid-core plank flooring, installed only after we confirm the subfloor underneath is dry, flat and ready to carry it.

  • Tile setter kneeling on a concrete slab, pressing a large gray porcelain tile into combed thinset beside a bucket and notched trowel, with spacers in an empty room

    Tile Flooring

Cracked or loose tile removed, the slab checked and dried, and new porcelain, ceramic or stone set with clean lines and a finish that lasts.

  • Installer kneeling on foam underlayment, tapping a dark wood-look laminate plank into place with a rubber mallet and tapping block in an empty room

    Laminate Flooring

Swollen or peaking laminate removed, the slab checked for moisture, and a new floating floor laid with proper gaps, underlayment and trim.

  • Installer kneeling on new beige carpet in an empty home hallway, with a power stretcher and tools on the bare concrete slab beside a carpet roll

    Carpet Installation

New carpet and pad laid over a slab we have checked for moisture, with old wet material removed and seams placed where they stay quiet.

  • Installer kneeling on a bare concrete slab in an upstairs room, pressing a charcoal carpet tile beside laid rows, with a utility knife and an open box of tiles nearby

    Carpet Tile

Modular carpet squares laid over a tested, level slab, with spare tiles left behind so a spill or small leak means swapping a few squares, not a new floor.

  • Kneeling installer angling a gray wood-look vinyl plank into place beside fresh rows, with black spacers along a white baseboard and textured wall

    Luxury Vinyl Tile

Stone and ceramic looks in a water-resistant tile, set on a slab we check for moisture and flatness first. A sensible choice after a leak or storm.

  • Installer kneeling on a concrete slab, laying gray wood-look vinyl planks in an empty room, with spacers along the white baseboard and spare planks nearby

    Vinyl Composition Tile

Durable 12-inch VCT laid over a dry, level slab for laundry rooms, mudrooms and utility spaces, including repairs after water gets in.

  • Flooring installer kneeling on a staircase fitting new treads, with stripped steps above and boxes of flooring planks stacked in the adjoining hallway

    Stair Flooring

New treads, risers and nosings in hardwood, vinyl plank or carpet, fitted step by step so your stairs feel solid and match the floors around them.

How a Replacement Job Runs

Most jobs follow the same four steps. The pace depends mostly on how quickly the floor dries.

  1. 1

    Talk it through by phone

Tell us what happened, which rooms are affected and what flooring you have now. We will tell you what to do in the meantime, such as pulling up soaked rugs and keeping air moving, and set a time to look.

  2. 2

    Inspect, test and photograph

We walk the rooms, take moisture readings and photograph the wet areas and where they end. You get a written estimate that separates tear-out, prep, materials and installation.

  3. 3

    Remove and dry

We remove the soaked flooring and padding, check the slab or subfloor and retest until readings are where they need to be. If something underneath needs repair first, you hear about it before we go further.

  4. 4

    Install and clean up

We acclimate materials where the product calls for it, install your new floor, fit trim and transitions and set your furniture back. We vacuum, haul debris away and walk the finished floor with you.

A Flooring Company Built for the Week After

Flooring Jersey Village replaces and installs floors in homes across the area, and much of our work starts after something has gone wrong: a supply line that burst overnight, a water heater that let go, rain driven under a door during a Gulf storm. Those moments are stressful, and the first person through the door often sets the tone for everything that follows.

We try to be the calm part of that week. We explain what we see in plain terms, separate what is urgent from what can wait and give you choices in materials and timing. Then we do careful work with good underlayment, clean cuts and tight transitions, so the new floor feels like it belongs to the house.

How We Handle a Floor After Water Gets In

Sudden trouble pushes people to rush. We slow the decisions down just enough to get them right, then keep the work moving.

We measure moisture, not guess it

A floor can look dry days before the slab or plywood beneath it is. We take readings across the affected rooms and share them with you. New flooring goes down only when the numbers say it is ready, because trapped moisture is what cups wood and lifts vinyl seams later.

A clear line between wet and sound

We show you where the water traveled and where it stopped, with photos. If a section can be cut out and patched cleanly, we say so. If the material runs continuously through several rooms and a patch would never match, we explain that too.

Insured, and accountable afterward

We carry insurance, which counts for something when our crew is inside your home lifting furniture and cutting out old flooring. Once the job is finished, you have a 1-year workmanship warranty on all installations. During that year, a lifting seam or a loose threshold traced to our installation is ours to return and correct.

Help with the insurance paperwork

We are not your adjuster and will not pretend to be. We give you a written, line-item estimate and photos of what we found, in a format your adjuster can read easily, and we answer their questions about materials and square footage.

Care for the rest of your home

We cover doorways and adjoining floors, move and replace furniture and keep tear-out debris contained. The rooms we did not work in should look the way they did before we arrived.

Questions People Ask After Floor Damage

How soon can new flooring go in after a leak?

Only once the slab or subfloor has dried to the level the new material requires. That can take a few days or a couple of weeks, depending on how much water there was and how long it sat. We test rather than guess, because installing over a damp floor is the most common reason a replacement fails.

Will my insurance cover a new floor?

That depends on your policy and the cause of the problem, and only your insurer can decide it. What we can do is provide a clear, line-item estimate and photos of the affected rooms, and talk with your adjuster about materials and measurements if you ask us to.

Can you replace just the damaged part of the floor?

Often, yes. Tile, carpet and some floating floors can be repaired in sections if matching material is available. Where flooring runs continuously through several rooms, a patch may stand out, and we will show you both options so you can decide.

Which flooring holds up best if it happens again?

Porcelain tile and waterproof luxury vinyl plank or tile tolerate standing water far better than hardwood, laminate or carpet. Waterproof means the surface, though, not the slab underneath, so a leak still needs prompt attention. We can help you weigh durability against the look and feel you want for each room.

Is your installation work covered after you leave?

It is. The coverage is a 1-year workmanship warranty on all installations. Should a seam separate, a plank shift or a transition work loose because of how it was put in during that year, phone us and we will return to correct it.

Do I need to leave my home during the work?

Usually not. We work room by room where we can and contain dust from tear-out. Tile and glue-down jobs can make a room unusable for a day or two, and we will tell you in advance which spaces will be off limits and for how long.

What Shapes the Price of a Replacement Floor

No two replacement jobs cost the same, and we would rather explain why than quote a number before seeing the room. The material you pick matters, but so does everything under it and around it.

After we see the rooms and take readings, we write a line-item estimate so you can see each part of the job and share it with your insurer. You get your quote by phone first, then in writing.

How far the water spread
Water moves under baseboards and along slab joints. The square footage of affected flooring, including areas that look fine but tested wet, sets the base of the job.
Tear-out and what is underneath
Glued-down wood and tile take longer to remove than floating floors or carpet. Once old flooring is up, the condition of the slab or subfloor shows itself, and cracked or uneven concrete may need leveling compound before anything new goes down.
Drying time before installation
Some floors are ready in days, others take longer. Waiting costs nothing in materials, but it does affect scheduling and how long your rooms stay open.
Material and matching
Matching an existing hardwood species and width, or finding a discontinued vinyl, can steer the job toward replacing a larger connected area. Choosing a new material for the whole level sometimes costs less than chasing a match.
Stairs, transitions and trim
Stair treads, risers and nosings are measured and fitted one by one. Thresholds between different floor types and new baseboard or quarter round add to the total.

Start With a Calm Conversation

Tell us what happened to your floors and which rooms are affected. We will explain the next sensible step and arrange a visit to take readings and measure.
